DBChangeManager supports Windows (2000, XP, Vista) and Linux operating systems (RedHat Linux 7.x, Mandrake, Mandriva, Fedora) Can DBChangeManager be run in a non-English operating system? Yes, DBChangeManager can be run in non-English OS's as in English OS Will I be able to access DBChangeManager from a remote machine? DBChangeManager Client is based on a Web-interface and hence can be accessed from anywhere in the network in which the DBChangeManager Server is running. What are the web browsers supported by the tool ? Following are the web browsers currently supported by the tool: Windows : Firefox 1.5 and higher, IE 6 and 7 Linux : Firefox 1.5 and higher Can DBChangeManager be installed as a service in Windows ? Currently, DBChangeManager cannot be installed as a service in Windows platform. What are the restrictions with the Free Edition of DBChangeManager ? Following are the restrictions with the Free Edition of DBChangeManager : Cannot create multiple users for the tool (ie. multi-user access for the tool is disabled). Synchronization Audit will not be available. Can synchronize a maximum of only 10 objects at a time. How can we start the product in Free Edition? SwisSQL DBChangeManager does not have separate download for Free Edition. Once downloaded and installed, the product by default works in the evaluation mode until trial period expiry (20 days). It then automatically switches to the Free edition mode and continues to function with the applicable feature restrictions indefinitely. Can I change my login password ? Yes. You can use the "Change Password" option provided at the top portion of the client to change the default password assigned by the administrator. Is it possible to reset the user login password? Yes. An user with "User Admin" permission (by default "dba" login) can use the "User Administration" link visible on the top to reset any specific user's password. The password will by default be reset to the user name itself. The user can then make use of the "Change Password" option to change the default password. Can I compare and synchronize SQL Server 7 database schema objects? Currently SwisSQL DBChangeManager supports comparison of SQL Server 7 database schema objects but the generated synchronization script will not be compatible to be execute on the same. In short, an SQL Server 7 database instance can be source but not a target for Synchronization.
